Quality Capsules and Accessories

The Melb Food Depot stocks two kinds of capsules, gelatin and vegetable.
Gelatin Capsules:
The source of the gelatin is bovine from Australia and or USA (therefore BSE free)
Smallest pack size approx 1000 units.
Size ranges from 4, 3, 2, 1, 0, 00 and 000 - 4 being the smallest and 000 the largest.

Vegetable Capsules (Hypromellose):
The vegetable capsules (Vegicaps, veggie caps) are starch, wheat, dairy and preservative free.

Cap M Quik come in 4 sizes. The most popular capsule size, and therefore less expensive, is 0. The larger 00 fits more but being larger is harder to swallow. Size 1 or 000 are available but minimum orders apply. Please use the above picture to check which size you require. The contents these capsules will take will depend on the molecular weight of the substance used. Best way to work out the quantity of the capsules is to weigh 100 empty and then weigh them again once full. Subtract the difference and average out over the 100 capsules. Molecular data can be supplied for most products, request when purchasing.

Cap m quik are easy to use machines which aid in the filling of these capsules, they are available for each size of capsule. Cap-M-Quik Capsule Filler consist of base, holder and spacers ONLY is manually operated and holds 50 capsules in upright position after tops have been removed.

It is this easy to operate a Cap M Quik

Assemble: Before starting, place capsule holder on large paper. Place spacers on end posts facing center. Set holder on the four corner posts resting on spacers above base.

Load: Manually separate capsules placing the longer half in holes (top of capsules should be below surface of holder).

Fill: Pour powdered herbs or vitamins onto holder spreading substance evenly with card, filling all capsules.

Option: The Cap M Quick Accessory Tamper (sold separately available now for online purchasing) could be used at this point to simultaneously pack contents of capsules. Remove excess substance carefully by scraping from holder onto paper.

Cap: Turn end spacers 90'. Holder will fall down exposing upper half of filled capsules. Manually replace top cap, and remove filled capsules.
